Aha :) Yup :)
India is the biggest place of kiddies :)
Every time when I'm look at Indian code I'm think:
"What idiot write this code"
They write code as little kiddies :)
No templates, No clean, No classes, No readable and etc No's
So it really big place, of bad coders :)
But yup it big :)
But maybe be better if it be small?
On every site where I'm work, with every buyer, all say:
"Indian coder is the badest coders of World, We not wish more work with this coders"

Zero

I can understand you may be upset if you and other people had bad experiences with some Indian developers.

I am no Indian but I think there is no reason to generalize and using wording that may be taken as insults by Indians or anybody else.

There are low qualified developers in every country. Sandeep provided several tips on how to assure that outsourcing companies provide work of satisfactory quality.

It seems that who wants to outsource projects to companies of India or anywhere else should take the same precautions, so they do not complain later.

Not only me, My friends coders, my buyers.
And almost all have bad experience with Indian developers.
The problem in low quality.
Like on site where I'm work, have many Indians, Only ten's is real work, all other just resell, So they get the work and outsource it. This take a problems. This is why buyers not like Indians.
The second problem is, Indians (not real coders, resellers) talk with client and with outsourcer, and this remember game "Broken Phone".
So really The chain of work look like:
Main_client -> Buyer -> Indian reseller -> Other Indian reseller -> Outsourcer.
And this chain provide misunderstandings and problems.

Another problem, So in each country have low quality coders, but almost all try to get it high, Indians coders not do this.

So for example, I'm work with many codes, But only one times i'm see really normal Indian code, I'm write for author respect.
So he economy my time and self time.
just be situations where site may be outsourced to other coder, and if code bad written, too hard understand it.

And the third problem
Indian coders not use classes,
I'm too not like 3rd party classes, it's because i'm write my self classes.
But Indian coders just not use it, not economy time.
And when you see code you wish a scream.
There is template & code both in one file, without spaces, open & close bracket where this no need, very hard to reed.
So maybe they lazy or etc, i'm really not know, but again for example on site where i'm work,
Around 10 perfect Indians coders, They have clear feedback and reputation.
Around 10 perfect Indians designers, They too have clear feedback and reputation.
And many thousands of Indians resellers, They have bad reputation, because they resell project, They really insult Buyers when Buyers give real rate.
So just novice Buyers work with this resellers.

Sorry for long post

Sorry again :)
Forgot to write one more thing.
When i'm develop site, i'm always think about ppl who may edit it after me,
And provide clear code, and in each script i'm provide my details so if next coder is not understand it he always can contact me.

And i'm provide way to clear edit,
Like i'm know than designers not know PHP and provide a way change template without coding, As standard XHTML.
In many ways code the same but site need new design,

Next i'm think about coders, and provide way to edit logic without design, Because some coders may not know XHTML.

All this stored in different places, logic in one files(for different pages)
, templates in different files/

But what i'm not like Indian coders, Than provide all this in one file, Logic & Design, And sometimes algorithm's have crazy logic, and i'm not have details to contact with previous coder. This take my time, and Buyers time.

So it looks like Indian coders not think about site, they think about money, and try to do this soonest without checks, not clear, just provide some work and forgot.

This is not right, and make problems.

Vasya2, If you feel Indian coders always put "template & code both in one file, without spaces, open & close bracket where this no need, very hard to reed" - why don't you ask them to follow popular mvcs like cakephp, symfony or just ask them to put bussiness logic and template in different file, before awarding the project. It may cost you some more, but advantages are clear. Also, it will drove most of the resellers as they don't have good idea about it.

Also you can use some sort of escrow sevices to protect your money.

You can't blame Indian php coders, because of your experience with some bad Indian resellers. All it depends whom you assign your project(not nationality).

vasya1, most work outsourced to India is from English speaking countries. Almost all indian developers are very comfortable in english. From your text, I gather you have difficulties with the language. Could that be the reason you are losing business to indians?

I agree, project management and choosing the individuals to hire is important, and of course following a specific set of standards is important.

If you are ultimately responsible for a project then I believe it is your job to carefully scrutinize the type of people that are programming the site.

Reselling and sub-subcontracting is the death of everything that is good in programming.

Well said Gaurav,

He looks like he is lost everything in this world and not able to get a good customer :-) he he he.

Vasya1 or what-ever he is just not able to accept that we Indians are competing in any technology and blames on our code. First of all he should go and brush-up his knowledge in writing a nice english sentences, then later if he has time (obviously he will, since he is jobless) let him talk about anybody quality.

All the best Vasya1.
