Hi.
I wonder how the class reacts to attempted mass mails (newsletter,forum subscription notifications, etc) ?

Any experience on these matters ?

No problem.
Send the mail in a while/for loop, with BCC recipients in groups of hundreds (let's say 100) and you can increase this value depending of your number of recipients your SMTP server accepts for one mail.
