Get hostname, zip code and hit count for an IP.

This class can be used to lookup the host name, ISP name and the United States ZIP code of the network of a given IP address.

It also returns the upper and lower IP addresses of the block of that the given IP belongs.

This class will keep a running count of the number of times a block of IPs were looked up and the date and time of last lookup of each block.

This class can lookup the IP address in a MySQL database, which is provided with this class, and if not found, it can lookup the IP from the ARIN Web site and then save the newly found information in the database.

Get the country of a IP querying a whois server

This class can determine the country and other details associated to a given IP address by querying an WHOIS server.

Besides the country, if available, this class also retrieves these fields of the responsible institution for the range of IP addresses to which the given IP belongs: netname, person, address, phone and e-mail .

Determine if an IP address belongs to a subnetwork

This class can be used to determine wether a given IP address belongs to a given list of subnetworks.

The class takes an array of subnetwork masks to be checked in the form of strings with decimal numbers seperated dots .

Then the class can check whether a given IP address belongs to any of the specified subnetworks by applying the respective masks.

This class was created to emulate the "Deny from x.x.x.x" directive for Apache (nd other servers -- for example, Samba uses a similar format for allowing/denying access to a range of IP addresses). I needed a way to deny/allow access to a range of IP addresses but, for technical reasons, I could not use a .htaccess file, and had to do the IP address processing within the PHP script itself.

For example, you can emulate the line "Deny from 192.168.0.0/24" by supplying the string "192.168.0.0/24" to the class. To see exactly how to do this, see the documentation within the class file itself.

Get the MAC address of a LAN client or server PC

This class is meant to retrieve the MAC address associated to a network card of a computer in the same local network.

This class works only under Windows 2000 or later and can retrieve the MAC address of either the network card associated to the IP address of the current Web server or the client accessing to it.

The class does not return anything if the server is running on the loopback addreess (localhost or 127.0.0.x) as it is not associated to a network card.

It can authenticate in Google with the user name and password of a given account. Then it can retrieve the contact lists from the Gmail user address book.

The retrieved contact lists are parsed and returned as arrays.
