Make it difficult to steal images from Web pages

This package can be used to make it more difficult to get images in Web pages.

It provides several protection methods:

- Serve the image with several headers to tell browses to not cache the images
- Avoid hot linking to prevent saving the images when menu mouse button is clicked by the user over the image on the browser, prevent retrieving the with a Web mirroring utility program, display the images typing the URL directly in the browser
- Serve the images with a watermark logo rendered over the image

When an invalid attempt to access the protected images is performed, the class can execute exception actions like redirecting the browser to a given URL or displaying a given alternative image.

Protect Flash files from hotlinking by other sites

The Apache mod_rewrite is often used to protect images and other types of media files from hotlinking from other sites, that make them appear in their pages although they are served from the original sites.

However, mod_rewrite can be used to protect the service of Flash files against hotlinking because these are embedded in pages using the <object> tag and in this case the browsers do not send a referer when requesting the Flash file from the origin server.

This class provides an alternative solution that works by generating a access key that is used to compose the URL used in the object tag but it is only valid only during a limited period of time.

The class takes as options the location of server directory where is the file to be protected, a password and the limit of time during which the access key is valid.

When the class validates the access key, it serves the real Flash file if the key is valid, or serves an error Flash file otherwise.

Save submitted forms to prevent reposting warnings

This class can be used to prevent form reposting warnings by saving submitted form data.

It saves the values of forms submitted using the POST method to session variables for a given length of time.

Then it makes the browser redirect to the same page forcing a new request, this time using the GET method.

The form values previously submitted using the POST method are restored from the session variables.

This way, when the user returns to this page using the browser reloading the page or using the back button the browser willing display warnings saying "Are you sure you want to resubmit the form?"

The class can also generate hidden inputs with random values also stored in session variables to prevent Cross-site request forgery exploit attempts.

User session management with security features

This class can manage user access sessions providing some security features.

It verifies whethers the IP address and the browser identification (user agent) are not different from those used when the session is created. Otherwise, the session is flagged as invalid. An exception is opened for users accessing the site via AOL, due to the rotating proxy problem.

It also provides functions for setting, getting, removing and checking the existance of individual session variables.

The session variables can be referred using dots for separating the names of indexes of sessions variables stored in multi-dimensional associative arrays, like for instance, "config.ip" instead for $_SESSION["config"]["ip"].

In French:

Cette classe contrôle que l'adresse ip et le user-agent sont identiques tout au long de la session. Si ce n'est pas le cas, c'est que votre session a été "volée". Cette classe vous permet aussi de gérer les variables de session plus simplement.

Protect the path of yours pictures

This class is meant to protect the path of your site pictures in order to prevent that somebody eventually using robot scripts steals the images by accessing the pictures directly.

The class changes the URL of the images used in HTML <input type="IMAGE"> or <IMG> tags using a new URL through which real browsers can retrieve the picture files.

The class requires php 4.0 or later with session support enabled.

To use this class put the protect_picture.php script in the same directory of the script that references thes pictures to be protected. Then, at the beginning of that, just call:

$pprotect = new protect_picture(session_id());

and at the end of your script call

$pprotect->protect();

This class supports all the session_save_handler method : file in most cases with th $_SESSION array or in the others way a cache file

Pass values between pages using encrypted cookies

This class is meant to pass multiple values between pages using encrypted cookies.

It can:

- Create a cookie object in memory
- Load the values of a cookie sent back by the browser into the cookie object in memory
- Assign multiple values to the cookie object in memory. Multiple cookie values are sent to the browser at once with names with array syntax.
- Cookie values can be removed from the cookie object in memory and from the browser
- Encryption with Blowfish-CBC algorithm can be used to encrypt all the cookie values sent to the browser. A secret server side encryption key can be used for different cookies objects.
- Assigning values to the cookie object in memory can be done just by creating up a new object property and assign a value to it, taking advantage of PHP5 dynamic object variable assignment __get and __set methods

Determine the type of browser

This is a very simple class that can be used to determine which browser is being used to access the site.

The class looks the user-agent name identification and looks for text that match what is used by several known browsers.

It returns a string with two characters that is an abbreviation of the identified browser. If the browser could not be identified, it returns an empty string.
