Add uploaded files to a ZIP archive

This class can add uploaded files to a ZIP archive.

It can generate HTML for a form to upload a file.

The class can handle the request when a file is uploaded and add it to a ZIP archive in a certain directory.

It can also generate a random file name so the uploaded file in the ZIP archive is unique, in order to avoid overwriting other files in the archive.

The class can also read the list of ZIP archives available in the upload directory, delete a ZIP archive, show a list of all files in each ZIP archive and allow to delete individual files in the archive.

When a file is very large size it takes a lot of time to download. A common solution is to zip the file to make it smaller, but if it still too large to download, splitting the file in many pieces is often a better alternative solution.

This class can compress and split large files into smaller part files that are compressed as files in a .ZIP compatible format.

Splitting the files can be done on the fly for instance when it is necessary to download a large file of Web site backup, or sending the file by email in several messages rather than sending a single message with very large attachment.

Gathering the split file pieces can be done using PKZip or WinZip.

	3. Huffman Compress		compress

Perform Huffman compression on plaintext files

This class is intented to perform Huffman static compression on files with a PHP script.

Such compression is essentially useful for reducing the size of texts by about 43% ; it is at its best when working with data containing strong redundancies at the character level -- that is, the opposite of a binary file in which the characters would be spread over the whole ASCII alphabet.

It is questionable whether anyone would want to do such an operation with PHP, when C implementations of much stronger and more versatile algorithms are readily avaible as PHP functions. The main drawback of this script class is slowness despite processing intensiveness (7 to 8 seconds to compress a 300Kb text, about 25 seconds to expand it back).

This class will therefore probably find more of a pedagogical purpose more than anything else. That is the context it was written in, anyway.

Store and retrieve arrays into compressed format

The Array Storage class can store and retrieve arrays in textual format with optional compression with the zlib PHP extension.

The class just converts array data into PHP code that would rebuild the array when run. Then it can compress the generated code so it can take less space to store for instance in a database BLOB field.
