This class can be used to parse cron tab files to retrieve job schedules.

The idea is to provide an alternative solution for scheduling tasks when it is not to use the cron program usually available and Unix/Linux systems.

It accept the standard crontab format, including comma separated and range values.

It can calculate the next time a scheduled job is supposed to be run based on the given cron definitions.

Watch a log file and e-mail newly added lines

This class is meant to poll log files and take any newly added lines and send them to a given watcher e-mail address.

Although this class can be used to poll any type of log files, it was developed with the intention to overcome a limitation of the PHP error trapping system that is not able to capture certain types of errors like script parsing errors or file upload failures. Despite of this, these errors are sent to a log file if error logging is enabled in the PHP configuration.

The goal of this class is to capture the error messages sent to log files and send them by e-mail to a person responsible for a site, so any necessary action may be taken with minimal delay.

To use this class to watch the PHP error log, take the example script and adjust any values to match your PHP configuration.

For security reasons, in a production environment, you are strongly encouraged disable displaying PHP errors on Web pages and enable logging errors to a log file. A sample php.ini configuration file is provided to indicate which options should be set in a production environment.

Mail Autoresponder Class

This class implements an email auto-response system.

It accesses mailboxes via POP3 or IMAP protocols and sends out automatic responses emails to the messages found in the inbox folder.

Currently it implements three types of auto-response:

* Send a response message using a given file

* Send response message using contents read from a given Web URL (in this case the email subject has the URL request)

* Send a custom response message generated by the current script

The response messages may be in plain text or HTML.

After the auto-response is sent, the mails are marked read or can be deleted.

This class is meant to be used from tasks run periodically for instance as cron jobs.

This class interfaces with the Unix/Linux crontab program to parse, manipulate and save the execution of scheduled programs.

You can add, delete, update crontab entries for a given user. It supports comments as well as the special commands (DAILY, WEEKLY, etc..)

Parse cron schedules to find when cron job ran

This class can parse cron tab schedules. It does not parse cron tab files themselves, but instead, can determine when a cron job should have last run, given the schedule in cron tab format (like 0 5 * * 1-4)

It can determine when a cron job should have last run, which can be used in conjunction with database logging to determine if a backup cron server should run a job or to create a complete PHP alternative to cron (maybe distributed across several servers). Updated with some example code and documentation explaining how it might be implemented.

	7. PHP Cron Daemon		crontab

Database driven PHP job scheduler like cron

This package can be used to schedule the execution of task like the cron program.

First it starts a daemon process using Luca Mariano's PHP fork class to make the cron daemon script run like a standalone program.

It can parse a crontab file with Mick Sear's cron parser class and extract the job scheduling definitions into a MySQL database table.

When it is time to run a scheduled job, it executes the job command in the crontab definition as PHP code as a separate process.

The output of the job PHP code is also stored in a database table.
