Get the last lines of a file as the tail command

This class can be used to get the last lines of a file like the Unix tail command.

It can also filter the retrieved lines so only the lines that have a certain keyword or match a given regular expression are returned, like when using the Unix grep command.

It uses pure PHP commands so it can work on non-Unix like systems.

The maximum number of returned lines is configurable. The retrieved lines are returned as a text string. The retuned text may be highlighted or even formatted as an HTML list, or as XML document.

Search images on Google and download its files

This class can be used to search for images of a given person using Google and then download the images to local files.

It is just necessary to specify the name of a person, the limit number of images to be downloaded and the minimum width of the images in pixels.

Then this class will automatically search the images of the specified person on Google and will download all those images.

The images will be stored within a folder with the name of the person in the current script directory.

Protect Flash files from hotlinking by other sites

The Apache mod_rewrite is often used to protect images and other types of media files from hotlinking from other sites, that make them appear in their pages although they are served from the original sites.

However, mod_rewrite can be used to protect the service of Flash files against hotlinking because these are embedded in pages using the <object> tag and in this case the browsers do not send a referer when requesting the Flash file from the origin server.

This class provides an alternative solution that works by generating a access key that is used to compose the URL used in the object tag but it is only valid only during a limited period of time.

The class takes as options the location of server directory where is the file to be protected, a password and the limit of time during which the access key is valid.

When the class validates the access key, it serves the real Flash file if the key is valid, or serves an error Flash file otherwise.

It opens a Flash video file and parses its contents to retrieve details about the video stream it contains.

This class can be used to browse files uploaded via Web forms using AJAX methods to send the files without reloading the form page.

There is auxiliary Javascript code that can upload in the background a file that the users chooses in a Web page form and updates the upload message status in the page.

A server side auxiliary script gets the uploaded files and copies to an upload directory.

The class can be used to scan the upload directory and list the previously uploaded files according to different types: image, sound, video and other.
