Calculate the similarity of two text strings

This class can be used to calculate the similarity of two text strings.

It is a PHP port of the fuzzy string comparison algorithm used in GNU diff also ported to Perl by Marc Lehmann.

The class calculates the similarity index between two strings. A value of 0 means that the strings are entirely different. A value of 1 means that the strings are identical. Other values mean that the strings are different but appear to have a degree of similarity.

Optionally it can limit the level of similarity between the strings that must be satisfied before it stops analyzing the strings. The algorithm stops when the similarity level drops below the specified limit.

This class is meant to interface with the Ht:/Dig programs to be able to index and search Web pages from PHP. It features:

- Setup a suitable configuration file from a few user defined parameters.
- Index Web pages to build the search databases.
- Search the indexed database to capture the matches into a PHP data structure ready to be used to display the results in a PHP generated page.

This class is meant to query different Google servers and analyse the results to determine if their search index is being updated. This index update is also known as Google Dance.

This class checks whether Google is dancing making three types of tests: counting the number of links pointing to a set of domains, counting the number of indexed pages of a set of domains, counting the number of results of a given search query words.

The class repeats the tests on several alternative servers and compares the results to return an index that is related with evidence that Google is updating their index.

Allow dinamic sites to be indexed by searchers

A simple way to hide dinamic sites to web spiders so they can index it.

Almost all web-spiders (like Google) can not index dinamic sites due to the parameters present on almost all links in the site.

This class, along with a simple modification onto your Apache configuration file, allows you to hide all the parameters and dinamic links and URLs of your site, so all web spiders will crawl it.

The best of all is that this will not give you too much work to get it working in your dinamic site.
