Convert PDF files to JPEG images using ImageMagick

This class can be used to convert PDF documents to JPEG images using ImageMagick.

It uses ImageMagick convert tool and Ghostscript to generate JPEG images from given PDF files. The resulting images are stored in separate directory.

The class also generates ZIP archive with a the images and XML file in the Flip book format

generate thumbnails of image files in a directory

This package can be used to generate thumbnails of images stored in a given directory.

It traverses a given directory and generates thumbnails of files with the extensions .gif, .jpg and .png, ignoring files that start with _ character.

The thumbnail images files are stored in a sub-directory named thumbs. Once created, the upto date thumbnails will be skipped to avoid unnecessary reprocessing.

The thumbnails may have limited width, height or both. The thumbnail file names may have custom prefixes, eventually associated to their size limit.

The class returns a bidimensional array of images and thumb file paths.

Additionally, there is a class to output a listing thumbs as a page using a template.

Parsing text with BBCode style tags

This class can be used to parse text BBCode style tags like [PIC="logo.gif"], [IMG PIC="photo.jpg" BORDER=0], [B]text[/B] etc.

It invokes given calllback functions when open and close tags are found passing the attributes of the tags. The callback functions can return text that is used to replace the tags that are found.

Optionally, the class can turn URLs and e-mail addresses into HTML links. The e-mail addresses can be encoded using Javascript to prevent harvesting by robots.

Create thumbnails from GIF, JPG, or PNG on the fly

Create image thumbnails from GIF, JPG, or PNG on the fly showing them in an image tag or outputting them as files with explicit width, height, or both.

This version requires GD 2.0 or higher! This is based on img2thumb 1.0 class from Andreas Martens that includes support for reading of GIF files (& creating GIF thumbnails if server supports this).

The other bonus is that you can set the thumbnails to be either constrained proportions with a background fill to the max pixel width & height or to simply be constrained proportions inside the max pixel width & height (i.e. set at 60x60 with an original of 90x180 constrained to 30x60 or 30x60 with background fill to make the thumbnail 60x60).

Display thumbnails of image files from a directory

This is a simple class that can be used to display thumbnail versions of images of a given server directory.

The class traverses a given server directory and extracts the list of image files considering only those with file name extensions .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .png, .tga, .tif and .eps.

The image files are displayed in reduced size in a table of a given limit number of columns per row. The images are displayed as links that when clicked open a new window to display the respective image in full size.

antiquated - made in 2002

antiquated, non reviewd version - no updates since 2002. flash can now load images interactive, so no need to use it anymore. Ming can only convert non-progressiv jpg to swf. with this tiny class you can generate (depending on your gd-version) swf from any jpg,gif,png.
