This package is meant to provide backup and restore services of MySQL databases.

It provides a friendly tab based user interface that lets the users create backups of given MySQL databases to files, listing previously generated backups, restore a given backup and deleting backup files.

Currently this package requires PHP with the bzip or zlib extension enabled to generate compressed backup files. It also uses the gonxtabs class to create an user-friendly navigation menu.

Localisation support is enabled to let you configure your application with your default langage and change it, or to add a new translation.

Performing a backup and restore of MySQL databases

IAM backup is package made of two classes. One performs the backup of the selected MySQL database, and the second restores the database. Both classes support gzip-compressed files for improved performance. When performing the backup, the user is prompted to download the backup file, straight from the browser. Alternatively, the backup can be stored on the local server at a predefined location. Restoring the database (or copying it to another server) is just as easy.

This class can be used to provide a backup and restore solution of SQL databases that can work with multiple database types.

It uses another database abstraction package to query the database table structure.

It extracts the data in the tables to generate a database backup file that contains in a list of SQL statements.

The restore process just reads the statements from the backup file and executes them.

The class can generate backups of the database with the whole data or just the database table structure.

This class is officially PHP 5 compatible.

This class can be used to take backups of MySQL databases by generating files with SQL commands similar to the output of mysql_dump program.

Fast MySQL databases backup and restore utility

This class is a ultra-fast MySQL backup and restore utility.

It can dump a database to a backup archive, restore a database from a backup archive, dump only tables modified since the last backup, restore from the last backup, list and date of previous backups, delete old backups, etc...

As it uses only binaries tools from the MySQL group, it's the fastest and the more secure dump and restore we can have using php.

Complete examples scripts are made available with messages in English and French.

The class may be used from a Web page script or from the command line (including manual help), in order to make it possible to use it to take backups started from cron task that runs regularly.
