Parse a RSS/XML feed from a given URL.

Getting a feed from another Web site, should be quick and simple. Any unneeded complications should be avoided.

This class provides way to retrieve feeds in RSS/XML format and display them on a Web page.

There are several versions of RSS/RDF. However, in practice, all versions follow the same pattern: A publication link is contained within <item> tags and consists of a <title>, <link>, and a <description>.

The class was tested with feeds from many different sources using all versions.

The class returns an HTML unordered list. The example script shows how it should be used to process and display the feed in table of a Web page.

Generate feeds in RSS 1.0, 2.0 an Atom formats

This package can be used to generate feeds in either RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 or Atom formats.

There is one main class that abstracts the feed information and another to encapsulate the feed items information.

Applications can create feed writer object, several feed item objects, set several types of properties of either feeds and feed items, and add items to the feed.

Once a feed is fully composed with its items, the feed writer class can generate the necessary XML structure to describe the feed in the RSS or Atom formats. The feed is generated as part of the current feed output.

Generate RSS 2.0 feed from an array of items

This class can be used to generate a RSS feed compliant with the version 2.0 of RSS specification.

The class is based on Paulius Lescinskas' Easy RSS class.

It can generate a complete RSS 2.0 feed passing an array of item definition arrays. The item arrays describe item properties such as the title, link URL, description and publication date.

The global properties of the feed can be set by assigning class variables with the same names. The supported feed properties are: the title, description, publication date, generator name, language and encoding.
