This class can be used to search for data in MySQL database table text fields.

It executes one or more SQL SELECT queries to search for given keywords in different text fields of the same MySQL database table.

Search for words and phrases in a a MySQL table

This class can be used to search for words and phrases in text fields of a MySQL database table.

It can generate a Web search form with an input field to enter the search text, a submit button and radio buttons to let the user tell whether the search should find records with all the words or at least one of them. The form text and presentation style is configurable with CSS.

The class can perform the search for the specified text with prior cleanup to avoid security exploits. The searched text is stored in a session variable so the user can be reminded of the last search.

The search can treat words separately or as phrases when the user encloses the words in double quotes.

The search results are returned in an array that contains a list of distinct records that matched the searched text.

The table name and the table fields to be searched and the fields to be returned as result of the search are configurable.

Search server side HTML documents and image files

Site Search is a class that can search for HTML documents and image files available within server side directories.

It does not need a database, so it is very easy to implement it.

This class will search in the content of each file within a given directory. You can restrict the search to files with given file name extensions. You can also exclude certain directories that should be skipped during the search.

You can split the search process in different sections of files of your site to save time

You can can either search for text documents (like .htm, .php, .asp, etc.) or images. If you download and install the PowerThumb class, the result pages can present thumbnails of the image files that are found.

It accesses the Google Web search pages and submit search queries with special syntax to return lists of files of certain types.

Currently it can perform searches for: music files, ebook files, video files, application program archives, and text font files.

The class returns arrays of the URLs of the files that are found.
