Generate smooth thumbnail images

This package is meant to generate thumbnails from image files located in a specified directory.

The package comes with a class that can traverse directories and list the files in them to determine which are images based on the file name extension.

A sub-class is capable of taking a list of image files and generate thumbnail images that are stored with a file name based on the path of the original image files, possibly in a different directory that is created by the class if necessary.

The thumbnail images are resized proportionally given a percentage scale value or are constrained to a given width and height values.

If GD 2 support is enabled, the images are processed in true color to provide smooth scaling.

Create thumbnails from GIF, JPG, or PNG on the fly

Create image thumbnails from GIF, JPG, or PNG on the fly showing them in an image tag or outputting them as files with explicit width, height, or both.

This version requires GD 2.0 or higher! This is based on img2thumb 1.0 class from Andreas Martens that includes support for reading of GIF files (& creating GIF thumbnails if server supports this).

The other bonus is that you can set the thumbnails to be either constrained proportions with a background fill to the max pixel width & height or to simply be constrained proportions inside the max pixel width & height (i.e. set at 60x60 with an original of 90x180 constrained to 30x60 or 30x60 with background fill to make the thumbnail 60x60).

Create images/thumbnails with a drop-shadow effect

This class allows for easy creation of thumbnail images with (or without!) a drop shadow effect. Images can be read from a file or passed as a string (as you might take the images from a database), and they can also be resized for easy creation of thumbnails. You can also change the background colour of the image and generate the correct colour shadow. You can also use this class just to create the thumbnail images without a drop shadow effect. Images can be resizes in a variety of different ways, either as an absolute value or relative, to or by an amount, and as a pixel or percentage value.

Show galleries of images

Minigal is a class that can be use to present Web based image galleries.

It can generate gallery pages using images stored on a server directory using a configuration information from a file or URL.

It may also show image thumbnails on-the-fly, thus without requiring file writing permissions or disabling safe mode.

The width and height of the thumbnails and full size images is determined automatically given a size limit for either of the dimensions.

Display thumbnails of image files from a directory

This is a simple class that can be used to display thumbnail versions of images of a given server directory.

The class traverses a given server directory and extracts the list of image files considering only those with file name extensions .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .png, .tga, .tif and .eps.

The image files are displayed in reduced size in a table of a given limit number of columns per row. The images are displayed as links that when clicked open a new window to display the respective image in full size.

Generate thumbnail images using the GD extension

This class can generate reduced versions of images (thumbnails) using the PHP GD extension functions.

The class computes the reduced size of the images making an approximate calculation that preserves the image width and eight proportions to avoid distortion.

The class may be ysed to create thumbnails of different sizes. The result is a collection of thumbnails of proportional sizes.

It is ideal for photo galleries that get the original images by upload and the class takes care of generating the thumbnails.

The class only supports images in the JPEG and PNG formats.

The comments in the code are in Portuguese.

Esta classe pode criar versões de miniatura de imagens (thumbnails) usando as funções da extensão de PHP GD.

A classes determina o tamanho reduzido das imagens através de um cálculo de aproximado que preserva a proporção da altura e largura para evitar distorções.

A classe pode ser usada para criar miniaturas de imagens de diferentes tamanhos. O resultado será uma coleção de miniaturas de dimensões proporcionais.

É ideal para albuns de fotos, onde basta você fazer o upload da imagem e deixar a classe gerar o thumbnail.

A classe trabalha somente com imagens nos formatos JPEG e PNG.
