It can build a knowledge base of known text expressions that can be looked up later to evaluate a factor that expresses the probability of a given text to be spam.

This class could be used in Web mail applications or even in less obvious applications like forums and guest books, acting like an semi-automatic moderator.

Import contacts from Web mail accounts

This class can be used to import contacts from Web mail accounts.

It generates links to pages where the user can authenticate on either Gmail, Hotmail, MSN Windows Live or Yahoo.

Once the user authenticates, the user returns to a page with a script that calls the class so it receives request values that can be used to retrieve the contacts from the Web mail accounts using their Web service APIs.

You will need to create applications for Yahoo and Windows Live to obtain API keys and secret phrases. For Yahoo you need to get your application access to read address books in applications settings.

Access Gmail mailboxes retrieving XML Atom feeds

This class can be used to access Gmail mailboxes.

It establish an SSL connection to the Gmail Web servers, authenticates as a given user, and retrieves XML Atom feeds with lists of messages stored in the specified mailbox.

It can retrieve new mail messages on a single or multiple Gmail mailboxes. It can check all messages in inbox folder or just those flagged with a given label.

The retrieved message details are returned as arrays and may be sorted by any supported message property value.
