Procrastination is simply the proof that you are a sentient being, capable of making choices, even if a particular choice is not the best one for you.
I know a thing or two about putting off a task that doesn't really need to be done today. Don't get me wrong, I like to plan, creating my mental checklist of all the great things I am going to accomplish tomorrow. When tomorrow arrives (does tomorrow really ever arrive?) bringing with it so many unplanned opportunities like that impromptu fishing trip, Netflix releasing an interesting documentary on carbon foot-printing, or just how much more comfortable my favorite chair feels today. Can anyone really blame me for putting my reorganization skills to work and generating a new and improved checklist of what will get accomplished tomorrow. Keep in mind we are talking about my favorite chair, comfort, and, well, it must be explored.
I have witnessed that strange creature which completes a task weeks before it is due, don't they realize that there was plenty of time left? Here I sit it my favorite chair, wondering how many opportunities of the moment where missed so that they could beat the deadline?
Wait a second, I am supposed to be updating my projects to the improved SQL query extension since my favored extension is going away. But it is okay, it is only deprecated so everything will continue to work just fine, besides I now have this class that I can just drop in and everything will still work when the extension is finally gone. Of course, I do have to instantiate it, so I need to add that task to my checklist of things to get done tomorrow... Done, it has been added, and do you know what... I didn't think it was possible, but this chair feels even more comfy than it did a moment ago...
