Hello!

Nice web site very well done. And becomes even better with videos and tutorials. You're build quite nice community of users/programmers.

But don't you think your layout/design is a little bit old (at least old looking)? Did you think about refreshing it a bit?

This is a recurring topic. Once in while there is somebody like you that prefers a different site layout or has other visual design preferences.

Unfortunately this is not a simple issue that can be solve at content of all users, as explained in this other blog post:

phpclasses.org/blog/post/45-Package ...

That post also presents a solution that addresses the issues minimizing the problems.

Unfortunately there have been many other things with greater priority to implement before this solution can be implemented in practice.

There is still no expected schedule to work on that solution, but it will be worked on soon or later. Meanwhile, please be patient.

Thank you for the comments.

This site is really great - a very big repository for php classes. thanks for the assumingly time consuming task of maintaining it.

the layout is one thing, but i think the usability could be dramatically improved. for example: when i login and try to download a file, i'm just told i have to login again (opera and cookies enabled). i had to reregister....

That is a well known Opera browser quirk. What happens is that when you access a page, Opera caches it for an arbitrary period of time, despite the Web server did not tell it to cache.

So, after you login, when you access a page with the same URL, Opera does not even check the server to see if the page changed. It just shows the previously cached page. So, it is not really the site that is asking you to login again.

As far as I know, only Opera exhibits this behavior. So, I cannot recommend Opera as it does not work reliably. Maybe if you tweak Opera caching options it stops doing the wrong thing. If you reload, it retrieves the right page. Other than that, I do not know if there is anything else the site could do to avoid the problem, as it certainly works well with all other browsers.
