The problem with this class is that it is used to promote the developers geo zipcode service... he should have released the database that contains the data but instead has chosen to force anyone who uses this example to use his database... which is subject to downtime, eventual closure, etc. I don't think that phpclasses.org should be used to promote a service.

The purpose of this class is to allow anyone to implement geocoding services into their web site as easy as possible. Most people wouldn't want to be bothered to setup a database, maintain it, and update it. Having the API service in one central location maintains consistency of data and simplicity. The database learns the more it's used. Thus growing its capabilities and potential to serve it's users better. Of course their will be downtime, but this can happen anywhere with any host.

I recommend that someone use http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/3156.html instead of this class... the developer has released the database.
