Using your example, I'm getting the following error

Warning: curl_setopt(): supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in /usr/www/users/bfms/mmtest/PhpMailman.php on line 94

The error is being displayed at the top of the Mailman admin page, even though I am not logged into the Mailman application.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

I think the class is not finding the cookie file or the cookie has not write permission...
Ensure the file is in the same dir and the runner user has write permmision on it.
Let me know if it doesnt works

Cookie permissions are 777..
I have verified that I'm writing the header data to the cookie as well.
It is a bit of a mystery as the error tends to imply that the resource from the curl_init is not valid.
It does actually do the subscribe..

What is the reason for the cookie? Just wondering.
