This class is a simple MySQL database access adapter. It can:

- Connect to a given MySQL database server
- Escape literal text values for use in queries
- Execute arbitrary SQL queries
- Retrieve the number of query result rows
- Retrieve query results into arrays
- Retrieve the last inserted field identifier
