PHP 5.4 beta 1 was released but APC is not going to be included at least in PHP 5.4.0. Manuel Lemos and Ernani Joppert discuss this and other happenings in the PHP world, like the adoption of more robust Continuous Integration methods to prevent shipping buggy PHP versions like what happened with PHP 5.3.7.

Bob Ray, a book author and contributor of the MODX CMS project was interviewed in the podcast to talk about this revelation CMS and how it compares with other popular systems like Wordpress.

PHP 5.4 Alpha versions just started to be released. On episode 14 of the Lately in PHP podcast, Manuel Lemos and Ernani Joppert discuss the purpose and interest of the new PHP 5.4 features already implemented in these alpha releases.

They also discuss the repercussion in the PHP community of the plan to deprecate the original PHP MySQL extension.

Additionally they also talk about a newly released feature of the PHPClasses and JSClasses sites that allows developers to import the files of their project packages from SubVersion repositories hosted in another sites, and so get a much larger visibility to those projects.

145. JavaScript jobs for developers in the JavaScript Professionals directory

Maybe you are already aware, but in case you aren't, the JavaScript Professionals Directory was just launched.

It is similar to the PHP professionals directory in PHPClasses site, except that it is dedicated to list JavaScript professionals available for hiring.

Developers that sign-up there may get JavaScript job offers of their interest. It is a free service. Companies looking for JavaScript developers may also post JavaScript job offers for free. There are already a few jobs posted there.

This is an small notice telling more about what is this initiative.
